Genius Myth
1 min read
After reading Leonardo da Vinci's biography, I realized that he's not a genius. He was relentlessly curious, tried many things that failed, had several unfinished paintings and projects.
He surely had an inate talent for drawing, but when you learn about the way he learned optics to pick the shade of blue for distant objects, or how he improved his drawings 10 years later when he learned about new muscles.
This is incredibly hopeful for us mortals. It takes effort, a ton of tangent curiosities, and a craft.
